Feature · Screen recordings

Record it. Share it with who you choose.

Earlyn records the whole screen, one window or an area you drag, with your voice and the Mac's sound. Every recording stays on your Mac, and when you want to share one it goes to your own private library on record.earlyn.app, where only the people you invite can watch it.

Record in two keys

  • ⇧⌥5 opens a small bar: Screen, Window or Area, microphone and system sound. A three-second countdown, then a pill with the timer and Stop.
  • Earlyn's own windows and the apps you excluded are left out of the recording.
  • The result is an MP4 that plays everywhere. Save it anywhere, or keep it in Earlyn.

All your recordings in one place

The Recordings page in the main window lists every recording with a thumbnail, its length and date, and whether it is only on your Mac or also in your library. Open, rename, show in Finder or delete.

Private unless you share it

Who can see itHow it works
Only meThe default for every upload. The link opens only for you, signed in.
People I inviteType their e-mail addresses; each gets a personal link. You see who opened it and can remove anyone.
Anyone with the linkLike a public page, but never listed or indexed. Turn it back to private at any time.
Videos are kept in private storage and played through addresses that expire within hours, so a copied video address stops working.

Meetings, too

A meeting can go to the same library as a page: the summary, decisions, action items, your notes and, if you choose, the transcript. The same three choices apply.

Questions

Do I need an account?
Only to keep recordings in your library. Recording and saving on your Mac need no account. You connect the app once; the browser asks you to approve a code.
How many can I keep in the library?
Five on the free plan, 500 with Pro. Recordings on your Mac have no limit.
Is my screen memory uploaded too?
No. Only the recording or meeting page you press Upload on. Your memories never leave your Mac.
